23 Dec 2020
Dear Guests & Friends,
2020 will be remembered for the worst and best of reasons – Covid 19 and a world pandemic, followed in December of the same year with vaccines that we hope will combat this virus and lead us all on the road back to what we once accepted as 'Normal'. We hope that the vaccine will be soon being given throughout Europe and things will improve despite this new, more aggressive strain that has recently been discovered in UK.
The cruise companies that we deal with have, as you know, been good at refunding and switching voyages for those sailings that they had to cancel throughout 2020 and into the beginning of 2021. They are all sounding confident that cruising will be back in Spring next year and bookings have been going well for most of 2021. We, ourselves, believe that cruising may still suffer in 2021 but certainly, for 2022 we are sure that you can confidently book your cruise and experience near to normal conditions onboard. For those 2021 voyages already booked, we do not have full details of how the onboard experience will be amended to allow for extra health precautions but know that all the cruise lines are working tirelessly to make everything as good as possible for guests.
Cruises from/to American ports.
At this time, due to regulations administered by the USA Centre for Disease, Control and Prevention, there is a certain degree of uncertainty for all cruises of 8 days and longer operating from/to American ports. Seabourn, Silversea and other companies have temporarily stopped selling 8 day plus cruises from the 1st January 2021 to November 30th 2021 that call upon a US port. They have changed their itineraries to accommodate the new American rules to provide a maximum of 7-day voyages.
Finally, Nicky and I wish you and your families a happy (and most unusual) Xmas and New Year!
With Best Regards,
Peter & Nicky Conway-Hann
